Sharpes Garden Services objective is to have the best 
Green credentials we can possibly achieve. We realise how important it is to consider the social and environmental impacts of our business and are very pro – Active with our campaign. Sharpes run their own uniquely devised and organically grown Environmental Management System. This is an easily managed and practically run system that is integrated into the daily running of our business. Sharpes realise the substantial benefits that being an Eco – friendly landscaper can be for a business such as ours, helping us to generate financial savings through 
efficient practices ,cutting waste and energy usage. This also helps to build the standing and reputation of Sharpes with client companies and associated partnerships.  
 
Most importantly the less impact our services have on our environment will be instrumental in creating a better future for our communities. 
Example Company environmentally friendly initiatives:  
Minimisation of waste 
 
Separation of waste using new waste/ landfill taxation guidelines 
 
Recycle green waste /brash, chipping for mulch cover on beds 
 
Using eco friendly machinery/tools to reduce omissions and noise pollution. 
 
Usage of green fuels and eco vehicles. 
 
All waste from hazardous substances is disposed of following COSHH Guidelines. 
 
Composting green waste at our company’s main base this is turned on a regular basis and ploughed onto local farmers fields we work with Lees Agricultural on this government approved initiative. 
 
Working together with envirowise( sustainable practices ) to gain a formal accreditation ISO14001. 
Company's Carbon Footprint: 
Sharpes Garden Services have started a campaign to reduce their company’s carbon footprint 
 
We are very aware of the need to act on CO2 and are actively looking for ways to effectively act on this for the sake of our beautiful planets future and the effects on climate change. The diverse effects on climate change are something that does effect our profession dramatically. Our management team and other staff members have recently joined together to look at ways to improve the company’s current footprint 
Below are a few examples of our collective ideas and initiatives…. 
 
Using biodegradable / Green fuels : Reducing water wastage 
Low omissions machinery /tools : Hose pipe banning 
Eco vehicles : Unplug and turn off in our office 
Energy saving light bulbs for our company premises 
Car sharing scheme for travelling to work : Catalytic converters fitted/ built in machinery
